I am one of those people that happens to be crafty, but can’t paint a person or animal, with any amount of realism to save my life. I have taken classes galore in my attempts to hone a skill I thought for certain just needed a little instruction and soon realized that art takes a certain talent to create and I just didn’t happen to have it. It doesn’t stop me from envying those with that skill and admiring the work I know they have put into their pieces.
Because I can’t make my own art, I am addicted to galleries, shows and sidewalk displays and always love meeting the artists behind the work. It also saddens me greatly when members of the general public seem to think an artist should be grateful for any interest in their work and accept any amount of money offered.
